Neil Munro

Биография

Neil Munro is a guitarist, composer and teacher based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has been active in the music profession for over thirty years. His musical education is very varied, and ranges from the extremes of informality to the extremes of formality; his work in all three areas of playing, composing and teaching reflects the eclectic nature of his background.

He was drawn to the guitar at a young age - originally self taught, he then studied formally in London, where his teacher was Timothy Walker, latterly Professor of Guitar at the Royal College of Music.

He has performed in a variety of situations with a variety of different musicians in a variety of differing musical styles - classical guitar recitals, jazz groups, orchestral work with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and a whole host of others.  He has considerable experience also in broadcasting and in recording work, once again in a variety of different musical situations.

He currently works in the music department of a prominent Edinburgh school, plays occasional concerts with a jazz quartet and composes music in a variety of styles.

Neil is available to discuss commissions - please make any communication via the contact page of this site.
